Former Hull City favourite Greg Docherty has praised Ivor Pandur, as the Tigers’ number one prepares to make a move from the MKM Stadium to Scottish side Rangers.
While away at the World Cup with Croatia, Pandur underwent a medical in the USA earlier this week after both clubs agreed a fee Hull Live understands is in the region of £6m, to join the Ibrox giants.
The 26-year-old played in all but one of City‘s 46 Championship games last season, and then kept three clean sheets in the play-off semi-finals and final, as the Tigers roared into the Premier League.
Docherty, who helped City win the League One title in 2021, is now skipper at Charlton Athletic, but played with Pandur at the MKM Stadium under Liam Rosenior’s stewardship following the goalkeeper’s arrival from Fortuna Sittard.

The Scotsman and Croatian’s paths only crossed for a short while at City, with Docherty leaving at the end of the 2024 campaign, but the former Rangers ace was impressed with what he saw.
“Ivor came in just before I left. They brought him in from Holland,” Docherty told the Glasgow Times. “So it took him a bit of time to adjust and get into the team, but training with him every day, you could see he was a very good goalkeeper. It was no surprise to see him go on and become the No. 1 at Hull.
“Ivor is a top professional up there with the best I’ve seen, as well as being a top guy. You also don’t get into the Croatia national team squad unless you’re a talented goalkeeper. So I really hope it works out for him at Rangers, if they manage to get the deal over the line.
“The Hull lads I still speak to say great things about him and he was a massive part in getting them promoted this year, obviously, that says a lot about Pandur as a person and a goalkeeper.”
