A teenager has been charged following reports a boy was attacked in Hedon. Police say they were called to an incident at a park off Drapers Lane at around 8.30pm on Friday (June 12).
A Humberside Police spokesperson said: “It is believed a teenage boy approached another teenage boy, thought to be known to him, before assaulting him and attempting to steal his motorbike.
“We are aware of a video circulating online; we would urge people to please not share it further and refrain from speculating whilst there is an active investigation ongoing.”
A 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons due to his age, has been charged with non-fatal strangulation, robbery, and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place. He has been remanded into custody.
The police spokesperson added: “If anyone has any information that may assist with our ongoing investigation, please speak to officers when you see them out and about, or contact us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting crime reference 26*81191.
“Alternatively, if you wish to report anonymously, you can do so via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
