The third tier club have big ambitions to play in the WSL

Hull City Ladies have confirmed the appointment of David Kilburn CBE as the club’s new President.
The leading Hull business figure and Hull KR board member, will add a wealth of experience and knowledge to an ambitious club. That ambition appears to be echoed by Kilburn, who says he is excited to be joining a club which he believes can reach the very top level of English women’s football.
“I am proud to become President of Hull City Ladies Football Club at such an exciting time in its development,” said Mr Kilburn.
“The club has clear ambition, talented people throughout the organisation, and a determination to grow both on and off the pitch. While we currently compete in the third tier of English women’s football, our sights are firmly set on reaching the top tier.
“I firmly believe this club has the foundations to achieve something special. I am excited to play my part in that journey.”
The founder of MKM Building Supplies, Mr Kilburn and his company MKM have been sponsors at Hull City for over 20 years and currently hold the naming rights to the stadium. Passionate about football, that love for the game will now also be channelled into making women’s football a success story in the city.
City Ladies play in the FA Women’s National League North, the third tier of the English game. Last season they finished ninth in the 12-team competition, with Burnley winning the title after winning a remarkable 62 points from a possible 66.
