1. Plans to bring a vacant city centre unit into use as a soup kitchen have been submitted to Hull City Council. 75 Jameson Street, which neighbours an NHS dentist’s surgery, has been vacant since 2017 according to plans. Documents state: “The project aims to provide a structured, indoor environment where vulnerable individuals can access food, basic facilities, and support services in a safe and dignified setting.”
2. Plans for a 49.9MW solar farm near Hull: East Riding Council’s planning committee has backed recommendations to defer plans for the Neat Marsh Solar project, south of Bilton. The deferral includes delegated approval of the plans following the completion of legal agreements.
3. East Riding Council has received plans for an egg production facility capable of housing 32,000 hens. If approved, the facility would be set up on land north west of Buzzards Nest, Burton Pidsea. The application site, which is part of the Buckle Farms business, is currently used as arable land.
4. Plans to convert a building on Anlaby Road in Hull into 25 apartments have been submitted to Hull City Council. Anchor House, which sits opposite Hull Royal Infirmary, is currently registered as a large HMO. Plans explain that all but one of the apartment units would have one bedroom, whilst a single two-bedroom apartment is also included in the proposals.
