Sezer has been left out of Hull FC’s side to take on Leigh.
Andy Last has confirmed that Hull FC captain Aidan Sezer has been dropped from the side to face Leigh Leopards this Friday night.
The Black and Whites interim boss left the half-back out of his team to take on the Leythers, with Callum Kemp coming in to partner Jake Arthur, who will lead the side as the dominant half.
Last called for more impact from his halves mid-week after disappointing defeats to Toulouse and Bradford Bulls in recent weeks, and even stated that Sezer’s form hasn’t been as good as it was last year.
Speaking in Wednesday’s pre-match press conference, Last said: “Aidan played outstandingly well for us last year but he probably hasn’t quite hit the same sort of form as what he was in last year.
“That’s been a difficult problem for us as a coaching staff, trying to get the dynamics of what we need in those key positions, but the continuity and consistency in selection of them being on the same page – it’s quite clearly not quite there at the moment.”
And now Last has made the call to drop Sezer, one of seven changes to the Hull side, who are decimated by injuries with no further than 15 out and another in Yusuf Aydin suspended.
“Aidan is form related,” Last told Sky Sports pre-match. “I’ve spoken to him, he’s understood and he knows that we need to be better and he needs to be better moving forward.”
Also dropping out of the side are Ligi Sao (shoulder), Amir Bourouh (HIA), Davy Litten (knee), Lewis Martin (ankle), and Brad Fash (knee).
Hull will debut academy products Ben Johnson and Lennon Clark at Leigh. Lloyd Kemp and Hugo Salabio also come in for their first appearances of the season.
