The vibrant magic of Bridlington Kite Festival has been bringing spectacular colour over the East Yorkshire coast this weekend. Organised by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s Visit East Yorkshire events team in partnership with The Northern Kite Group, this free, two-day family celebration has grown into one of the region’s most beloved annual traditions, boosting the local economy and drawing thousands of spectators from across the UK and abroad.

From 10am to 5pm on both Saturday and Sunday, the cliff tops at Sewerby are being transformed into a kaleidoscope of colour as some of the world’s largest inflatable kites take to the skies over Bridlington Bay.

The event features dozens of extraordinary creations – from big, beautiful bears to swaying, slithering snakes – brought to life by internationally-renowned kite experts. There is also the popular parachuting teddy bear drops, supervised “have-a-go” sessions for visitors, and lively kite stalls.

Beyond the spectacular aerial displays, the festival offers a feast for the senses with trendy street food vendors, traditional ice cream vans, fairground rides, face painting, and giant bubble fun. The festival also hosts three charity stalls from the RNLI, Yorkshire Air Ambulance, and Bridlington Sea Cadets.
