Weekly sessions will bring laid-back evening entertainment to the heart of Hull

St Stephen’s shopping centre is striking a new chord with the after-work crowd through “Alive After Five”, a brand-new live music series set to bring laid-back evening entertainment to the heart of the city. Launching on Thursday, May 21 and running every Thursday until September 10, the sessions will showcase a rotating line-up of local acoustic performers, creating the perfect backdrop for visitors looking to unwind, dine and socialise after work.

Each event will feature sets from up-and-coming solo artists or duos between 5.30pm and 7pm, located on the centre’s first-floor terrace, opposite Nando’s and Prezzo. Kicking off the series with a bang on will be Soul Patrol, a seven-piece party band based in Yorkshire and specialising in soul classics from across the decades.

With a focus on stripped-back, acoustic performances, “Alive After Five” aims to spotlight emerging local talent while enhancing St Stephen’s vibrant evening atmosphere. A collection of restaurants and leisure facilities at the centre will also be offering exclusive deals to help visitors make the most of their Thursday nights.

Offers include extended opening hours and an unlimited pancake deal at 42nd East Bakehouse; samples and taste testing from Starbucks; an extra-long happy hour at Lost City Golf with savings across drinks from 5pm to 9pm, and a discounted combo deal at Funstation allowing visitors to have more fun for less. Jim Harris, centre manager at St Stephen’s, said: “We’re always looking for new ways to enhance the experience for our visitors.

“‘Alive After Five’ is a fantastic opportunity to bring something fresh and engaging to our evening offer. Running throughout the summer and into autumn, the series gives people a great reason to stay a little longer, enjoy everything our retailers and restaurants have to offer, and soak up a brilliant atmosphere in the heart of the city.

“It’s also a great platform to support and showcase talented local musicians, and we’re really excited to see the series come to life.” Whether it is post-work drinks, a midweek meal or a casual catch-up with friends, “Alive After Five” promises to deliver the perfect soundtrack to Thursday nights in Hull.

To help visitors make the most of their evening, parking at St Stephen’s costs £1 from 5pm onwards or free when visiting selected dining and leisure destinations. For further information, please visit https://linktr.ee/ststephenshull
