He hasn’t seen a minute of first-team action this season
Hull KR have allowed winger Lee Kershaw to link up with Huddersfield Giants on a short-term loan deal.
Kershaw recently returned to fitness after rupturing his ACL last season, but he is yet to see a minute of first team action this season.
However, he can expect to pick up some much-needed game time this week as he heads to Huddersfield to join up with Jim Lenihan’s Giants ahead of Thursday’s clash with St Helens.
The clash will be Huddersfield’s first since Lenihan was announced as head coach and they’ll be looking to pick up what would be just their third win of the season and get themselves off the foot of the Super League table.
Kershaw finds himself down the pecking order at Craven Park, with the winger competing with the likes of Joe Burgess, Tom Davies and Noah Booth for a spot in the side. And, since joining the club from London Broncos last year, he has made just one appearance in the Challenge Cup against Oldham.
He managed to score in that game, but he has struggled for a look in and the injury he suffered last year certainly did not help his chances of forcing his way into Willie Peters’ plans.
The only first-team action he has seen since joining KR has come while out on loan with Kershaw making three appearances for Castleford Tigers last year.
He has picked up minutes for the Robins’ reserve side this year but Thursday night could be his first outing senior outing since April 2025.
With his contract up at the end of the season, the former Wakefield Trinity man will go to Huddersfield with a determination to put his best foot forward and make a positive impression on the game.
