A woman has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and driving a motor vehicle while above the legal alcohol limit

A woman has been arrested after reports of a car seen being driven on the wrong side of the road at the Humber Bridge. Humberside Police say there were called to the crossing at around 12.25am today (Friday, May 1).

It is reported a silver Vauxhall was seen travelling south onto the bridge before making a U-turn. It was then driven northbound on the southbound carriageway before stopping on a path.

A Humberside Police spokesperson said: “Officers were immediately deployed, and a 33-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and driving a motor vehicle while above the legal alcohol limit. She remains in custody while enquiries continue.

“The incident was brought safely to a conclusion thanks to a coordinated response between our Team 3 Brough and Barton patrol teams, working alongside Humber Bridge staff.”
