Two men, both aged 19, have been arrested after two other men were injured in the incident
A man “pulled out a suspected BB gun” during a violent incident at a Hull pub during which two men were injured. He was reportedly one of two men who “became involved in a verbal altercation” with staff at the venue in Marfleet Lane at around 7pm on Thursday (March 5).
During this, “one of the men allegedly pulled out a suspected BB gun”. The two men are then reported to have left the pub “causing damage to a glass door as they exited”.
A member of the public is then said to have challenged them about the damage which led to a “further altercation” before the pair made off from the scene.
Police say a 60-year-old man suffered serious injuries to his ribs while a 68-year-old man suffered injuries to his finger. Two men, both aged 19, have since been arrested in connection with the incident.
Detective Inspector Ben Harmer, of Humberside Police, said: “I understand reports of this nature are concerning for the local community, however I would like to offer my reassurance that upon immediate deployment, officers located two men and recovered what is believed to be a BB gun.
“Two 19-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm without certificate, causing grievous bodily harm, attempt robbery and criminal damage.
“Both currently remain in police custody while investigations continue. We ask anyone with information that may assist officers, that has not already spoken to us, to call our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 422 of 5 March.”
