John Cartwright has provided an update.

Hull FC are still awaiting scan results on Will Pryce – with the Black and Whites full-back suffering a knee injury towards the back end of Saturday’s game at Wigan Warriors.

Pryce left the field late on after going down in a heavy tackle – with the club now looking to get to the bottom of the issue. They are still awaiting the full prognosis, with head coach John Cartwright stating it would only be guesswork at the time.

The same applies for back rower Joe Batchelor, who has gone for scans after picking up knocks to his calf and shoulder in the game at Wigan. However, Cartwright did concede that both players will be out of Friday’s game against York Knights at the least.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference this Monday afternoon, Cartwright said: “There’s nothing to report yet. We had scans done today for Will Pryce and Joe Batchelor, but until we get the results back we don’t know. They’ll be in doubt for this weekend, put it this way.

“We’d only be guessing at this stage so until we get the results of the scan, there’s no point worrying about things we don’t know about.”

On a lighter note, Hull are expecting to welcome back Zak Hardaker into their squad with the centre absent last week with a minor ankle issue. Hardaker could be joined by John Asiata, with the influential loose-forward set to take full training on Tuesday. A call will be made later in the week.

Elsewhere, Jake Arthur is still a doubt with a hamstring strain, while the game against York is expected to come too soon for James Bell, who is looking to regain full fitness after sustaining a knee injury in pre-season.

“We’re going to train tomorrow (Tuesday),” Cartwright said. “John Asiata will be back in training. We’ll assess how he gets through.

“Jake Arthur is still in a bit of doubt with his hamstring strain.

“James Bell is probably another week or to away as well, but on the plus Zak Hardaker should be okay.”
