‘So many exciting opportunities ahead’ for partnership

Sailors’ Children’s Society has announced a new charity of the year partnership with the Hull Seahawks, launching mid-season and continuing throughout the 2025/26 season. The partnership is to be officially unveiled at Sunday’s home game against Milton Keynes Lightning, with the Seahawks wearing a specially-designed charity jersey in honour of the collaboration.

These one-off jerseys are being auctioned off and available via a raffle on the club’s social media pages, with all proceeds supporting children and families from seafaring backgrounds who are facing financial and emotional crisis. As part of the season-long partnership, Hull Seahawks and Sailors’ Children’s Society will work together on a series of fundraising and engagement initiatives.

This includes a dedicated fundraising charity golf day in August, alongside opportunities for fans to get involved through national challenge events such as the Hull 10k and other major runs and marathons, with priority places offered to Seahawks supporters. Looking ahead to next season, fans will be invited to help design a future charity jersey, placing the community at the heart of the partnership.

The club has also committed to providing match tickets for local families and children supported by Sailors’ Children’s Society in the future, helping them enjoy memorable experiences together. Rhiannon Beeson, head of fundraising and marketing at Sailors’ Children’s Society, said: “We’re incredibly proud to be named Hull Seahawks’ charity of the season.

“This partnership will not only see us drive lots of fundraising, but will also focus on community, inclusion, and creating positive experiences for children and families who have been through difficult times. From the charity jersey launch to next season’s fan-designed kit and the golf day, there are so many exciting opportunities ahead, and we’re grateful to Callum [Gladding] and the club for their genuine commitment to supporting our work.”

The partnership brings together two organisations with strong ties to Hull and its maritime history. By working collaboratively, the Seahawks and Sailors’ Children’s Society aim to raise awareness of the charity’s work and generate critical funds to support children and families facing challenging circumstances.

Callum Gladding, commercial manager at Hull Seahawks, said: “We’re thrilled to be partnering with Sailors’ Children’s Society as our charity of the season. Their work supporting children and families affected by life at sea is incredibly important, particularly here in a city with such strong maritime roots.

“We’re excited to launch the partnership at Sunday’s game and to work together on a range of initiatives that will engage our fans, raise vital funds and make a real difference in our local community. I’ve got a feeling the fans will really like these limited-edition jerseys too.”
