Santa and his reindeers will be spreading festive cheer
The Beverley Festival of Christmas will be returning for its 30th anniversary. The festival attracts thousands of visitors to East Yorkshire from all corners of the country to experience an array of food, drink, arts and crafts, with the opportunity to purchase Christmas presents and visit independent businesses in the town.
Featuring more than 120 stalls brimming with seasonal gifts and local treats, the event is organised by East Riding Council and sponsored by The Beverley Arms, which is part of the hospitality company, Thwaites. This year’s event will take place on Sunday, December 13, from 10am to 4pm, taking over Saturday Market, North Bar Within and Wednesday Market, with links to Flemingate Shopping Centre.
The annual parade will start at 10am where a range of entertainment, including Santa and his reindeers, will move through Wednesday Market, Toll Gavel and finish in the Saturday Market. North Bar’s Georgian Quarter will once again feature East Yorkshire businesses and traders and showcase a wonderful array of local producers.
Councillor Nick Coultish, East Riding cabinet member for culture leisure and tourism, said: “Beverley Festival of Christmas is our flagship tourism event for East Yorkshire and is an important date in the calendar for businesses and traders. We look forward to welcoming visitors from all over the UK and are confident that the event will provide a welcome boost to the local visitor economy at such a wonderful time of the year.’’
