Nobody is permitted to enter the property for a period of three months, except for council officers, police officers, emergency services personnel or utility providers
A full closure order has been granted for a property in Beverley, following persistent reports of serious antisocial behaviour and criminal activity. East Riding of Yorkshire Council have had the order granted against the council-owned property in Wellington Road, following an application to the courts on Wednesday, October 14.
The order was served later the same day by the council’s antisocial behaviour team and it remains in place until Thursday, January 14 2027. Under the terms of the order, nobody is permitted to enter the property for a period of three months, except for council officers, police officers, emergency services personnel or utility providers.
Anyone else found entering or remaining at the address, may be committing an offence and could face a fine, imprisonment, or both. The court heard that the council’s antisocial behaviour team, in partnership with Humberside Police, had received numerous complaints from residents regarding reports of ongoing disorder, criminal activity and drug use associated with the property, the council said.
Neighbours described frequent daily visits to the flat throughout the day and night, resulting in ongoing nuisance, disturbance and distress within the local community. Concerns were also raised regarding alleged drug-related activity involving some of those attending the address.

One resident described the situation as unacceptable and highlighted the detrimental impact it was having on the quality of life of those in the local area. As a result, the council applied for the closure order to protect local residents from further antisocial behaviour.
Councillor Lyn Healing, East Riding of Yorkshire Council Cabinet Member for Communities and Public Protection, said: “We are committed to protecting the quality of life of our residents and taking action against antisocial behaviour across the East Riding. We encourage concerned residents to report antisocial behaviour so that necessary steps can be taken.”
The closure order comes days after a full closure order was granted for a property in Rudding Drive, Bridlington, following multiple reports of anti-social behaviour and alleged drug dealing and consumption at the premises. More information about antisocial behaviour or to report concerns can be found at the anti-social behaviour section of the council’s website. Anti-social behaviour can also be reported to the council by calling 01482 396380.
