British Transport Police said it was a ‘last resort’ action
British Transport Police (BTP) has issued a statement after reports circulated on social media about a dog being tasered at Hull Paragon Interchange on Saturday. A BTP spokesperson said: “Officers at Hull Paragon Interchange responded to two out of control dogs attacking each other at 1.51pm on October 4.
“Both dogs were initially secured by officers; however, one aggressively broke free of restraints and posed a danger to nearby members of the public. It was tasered as a last resort to bring it under control.
“A 54-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of having dogs dangerously out of control. He has since been released on conditional police bail while enquiries continue.
“Both dogs were seized and remain in secure kennels. Enquiries are ongoing to establish if they’re banned breeds.” Humberside Police officers attended to assist at the incident.
