Another player exit at Hull FC.

Hull FC have confirmed the release of Arthur Romano, with the Frenchmen set to re-join Catalans Dragons next season.

As reported last week, the centre requested a release from the second year of his contract due to ‘personal reasons’ and that release has been granted, with the player departing the club with immediate effect.

Hull have received compensation for the player, who played his last game in Black and White in victory at Leeds Rhinos last Friday night.

A club statement read: “Hull FC can confirm that Arthur Romano has departed the club with immediate effect. Romano has been released from the remainder of his contract on compassionate grounds, allowing him to return to France to be closer to home and to his young family.

“He will take up an opportunity with another Super League club in 2027, with the Black & Whites receiving compensation from Romano’s new club.

“The centre has made 15 appearances for the Black & Whites in 2026 after joining the club from Catalans Dragons. The club thanks Arthur for his efforts in Black & White, and wishes him the best of luck for the future.”

Romano joins the likes of Jake Arthur, Amir Bourouh, Jed Cartwright, Roman Dawson, Brad Fash, Zak Hardaker, Ben Johnson, Davy Litten, Hugo Salabio, and Ligi Sao in leaving the club, who are making big changes ahead of Steve McNamara’s arrival as head coach in November.

Speculation continues with the futures of Herman Ese’ese and Aidan Sezer, with Hull needing to let go of one quota player ahead of 2026. They currently have 11 as things stand, following the signing of Junior Pauga. A full 2027 squad round up can be found here.
