The table scenarios for Hull FC and Hull KR ahead of Super League’s final round.

Hull FC could finish bottom of Super League if results go against them this weekend. The Black and Whites last received the wooden spoon 62 years ago, finishing bottom of the pile in the 1963/64 season.

That unwanted feat is at risk of happening again should they lose to Leeds Rhinos on Friday night, but they would also need a couple more results to go against them.

Hull will be counting on York Knights to defeat Bradford Bulls this Thursday night, but if the Bulls win, and Huddersfield Giants beat Castleford Tigers on Saturday, then FC will be rooted to the foot of the table should they lose to the Rhinos.

Over the river, Hull KR could still finish fifth or sixth in Super League pending their result at St Helens, and those elsewhere, with Warrington Wolves, Wakefield Trinity, and Leigh Leopards all potential play-off opponents next week.

Here are all the table permutations ahead of the final round.

League Leaders Shield

Wigan Warriors can secure their second piece of silverware of the 2026 season with victory over Catalans Dragons on Friday night. Any win will secure the hubcap for Matt Peet’s side, who also won the Challenge Cup back in May.

However, a Wigan defeat opens the door for Leeds Rhinos to claim the LLS, who sit two points behind the Cherry and Whites with a much superior points difference. They host Hull FC on Friday night.

The wooden spoon

At the other end of the table, five teams can mathematically still finish bottom in York Knights, Castleford Tigers, Hull FC, Huddersfield Giants, and Bradford Bulls.

York are all but safe from the unwanted fate. They would need to lose to Bradford by 51 points on Thursday night and see Castleford, Hull, and Huddersfield all win to finish last.

If Bradford lose tonight, then they look dead certain to finish last, with an inferior points difference to Huddersfield, who play Castleford on Saturday afternoon, of more than 70 points.

If Bradford win and Huddersfield lose, then the Giants will finish bottom.

If Bradford and Huddersfield win and Hull lose, then Hull will finish bottom.

If Bradford, Hull, and Huddersfield all win and Castleford lose, then Castleford will finish bottom.

Home play-off finishes

The four teams who make up the elimination play-offs are all but confirmed (unless Leeds lose and Warrington win and make up a 230-odd points difference). However, the order in which they finish in is still up in the air.

Warrington will finish third if they beat Toulouse on Friday night, but if they lose, then the door opens for Wakefield, who would need to overturn a 37-point difference in the two results to leapfrog them.

The Trin need to avoid a defeat of 28 points to Leigh Leopards in order to finish fourth and keep home advantage in the play-offs next week – an opposition they could meet pending the result of the Hull KR-St Helens game.

The Saints cannot finish in the top six after their worst season in 64 years, but Hull KR can still finish fifth if they and Wakefield both win on Friday night.

French pride

Toulouse currently sit above Catalans in eighth position on points difference. Unless Catalans beat Wigan, that feat will stay the same and would cap a fine first season back in Super League for the side from the Pink City.
