The latest on Hull FC’s two marquee stars.

Hull FC will have influential loose-forward John Asiata fit and ready to start a full pre-season programme come November, Andy Last has confirmed.

Asiata has been out with what has proved to be a season-ending hamstring injury since April, but after a long rehab process, he will be in training from day one under new head coach Steve McNamara next term.

The hope was to get Asiata, who has one year still to run on his deal, playing at the back end of the 2026 season, but given the severity of the injury, the club have re-evaluated his situation and instead will get a fully fit player back in training this autumn.

Elsewhere, Last has stated that Will Pryce continues to make progress from his ACL injury sustained back in February. He will start running again soon, pending the results from some recent testing with Hull’s new medical and conditioning staff, appointments in the shape of Nathan Mill, Jimmy McDaniel, and Dave Ferguson that were recently confirmed by the club.

“John Asiata will be able to start the pre-season with everybody else,” Last said. “Will’s got some testing, which the staff have been doing.

“Once he gets the results back from that testing, hopefully he’ll be able to progress his rehab and start running. They’re both tracking along nicely and they’ll play a significant role next year in the pre-season in terms of setting some standards and driving the new signings that are coming in and also the younger guys who have played a significant role this year.”

Hull are also nursing long-term injuries to Yusuf Aydin (knee), Callum Kemp (shoulder), Will Kirby (ACL), and Joe Ward (ACL). All four players were lost to season ending blows this year and will be due back at different stages of pre-season and the 2027 season.
