The Hull FC squad will look very different in 2027

Hull FC are determined to go out on a high together as a chunk of their first-team squad prepares to move on at the end of the season.

Change is on the way at the MKM Stadium for 2027 with seven signings confirmed so far alongside the addition of head coach Steve McNamara and a raft of backroom staff members.

As such, in order to make way for the new arrivals of individuals, including players and staff, will be moving on to pastures new once the Super League season has come to an end.

The likes of Davy Litten, Amir Bourouh, Jake Arthur and Ligi Sao will be moving on to other Super League clubs, while Tom Briscoe has confirmed he will be retiring. Simon Grix heads up the list of staff members set to depart, too.

The Black and Whites will look very different next year then, but the notion that this current team will be broken up in a few weeks is action as a driving force right now.

“I think that’s been the strap line for us as a group, playing for ‘the us’,” Andy Last said. “This group of players is coming to an end.

“We’ve had two years together, we’ve been on a bit of a journey together and there’s some guys who have contributed significantly over the last few years and we want to make sure that they go out the right way.

“We don’t want to go out with a whimper. We want to go out with strong performances and hopefully those strong performances get us wins. The place is certainly a better place when you’ve got a couple of wins on the board so we’re looking forward to being together on the coach, on the plane and in the hotel and enjoying each others company.

“Then it’s going out there and putting in a strong performance against Toulouse and hopefully enjoy the victory after we’ve put in a strong 80 minute performance. Then it’s the trip back and get ourselves ready for Leeds and sign off as and when we’ve done our duty which is two strong performances.”
