The Tigers have outlined their future squad plans with most players on long-term deals
Hull City rewarded six of last season’s promotion heroes with new deals on Thursday night to cement their futures at the MKM Stadium.
Oli McBurnie, Charlie Hughes, Regan Slater, Mo Belloumi, Matt Crooks and John Egan were all given new and improved contracts by the club.
And, with almost all of their 18 new recruits coming in on long-term deals, City are in a good place when it comes to contracts and managing their squad.
On top of that, apart from those who have arrived on five-year deals this summer, the club have options to extend most deals by a further 12 months to give themselves a little more control.
However, a number of players are now in the final year of their contracts. Ryan Giles, Semi Ajayi, Dillon Phillips, Paddy McNair, Kieran Dowell, David Akintola and Abdus Omur are in the final year of their contracts, with Dowell and Akintola thought to be the only two without an option attached to their deals.
Decisions must be made on loan men Liam Millar, Matty Jacob and Harvey Cartwright this season too, with Millar and Jacob having options in the club’s favour.
Indeed, the club must make calls on all of the above names over the course of the coming season or risk losing them for nothing at the end of the campaign.
Here’s a look at Hull City’s current contract standing after Thursday’s flurry of new deals.
