The prop will be making the move from the Queensland Cup to Super League

Andy Last has explained what Hull FC fans can expect from the club’s latest addition for 2027 Joshua Coric.

The prop has joined the Black and Whites on a two-year deal and he’ll make the move over from Australia in the off-season to link up with his new teammates.

Coric has just one NRL appearance under his belt, with the forward getting the nod to represent Michael Maguire’s Brisbane Broncos off the bench this season.

However, he has plenty of experience in the reserve grade down under, playing 39 times for St George Illawarra Dragons second string before making the switch to Queensland and linking up with Wynnum-Manly Seagulls in 2025.

He’s made 40 appearances for the Seagulls and scored eight tries over the last two seasons.

As such, as they prepare to welcome him to their squad, alongside his teammate Jordan Swann, Hull are confident they’ve got a good on in Coric.

“He’s a good middle,” Last said. “He plays good minutes and he’s a good age.

“He has a lot to prove in Super League, he wants to come here and test himself in Super League. He’ll be a good fit for us, he’s at a good age and someone that can churn out big minutes for us which is what we need.

“He’s someone who’s young, hungry and ambitious. He wants to make a name for himself and played a couple of NRL games obviously, he’s been a strong performer at Wynnum but obviously he wants to test himself in the Super League competition and we’ve seen some success stories from those competitions.

“Wakefield have picked up a couple of good guys from there, Warrington have picked up a couple of good guys from there and hopefully we’ve picked up a good one in Josh.”
