Jackson Hastings’ St Helens career is potentially over after being handed a three-match ban for punching in his side’s win over Castleford Tigers.
The 30-year-old half-back was sent off just before half-time during Saturday’s Round 24 contest at the BrewDog Stadium for an incident involving Tyler Dupree. The Castleford prop was sent to the sin-bin for his involvement, but has not received any penalty points.
Hastings, however, has been hit with a Grade E punching charge, carrying 16 penalty points on top of his previous record, resulting in a a three-match ban.
Only three regular rounds remain of the 2026 Super League season, with St Helens currently outside the play-offs, two points behind sixth-placed Hull KR.
If they fail to reach the top six, Hastings’ St Helens career could be over, with the former Man of Steel off-contract at the end of the season and new coach Kevin Walters set to take charge following the Rugby League World Cup with Australia.
Alex Walmsley and Chris Matagi have also been charged for separate incidents during Saints’ 36-12 home victory.
Meanwhile, Bradford’s injury-hit squad has taken another setback, with prop Loghan Lewis receiving a one-match suspension following the Bulls’ heavy defeat to Leigh Leopards. He has been charged for Grade B head contact.
Hull KR have received no charges, while Mikey Lewis and Tevita Pangai Junior’s respective suspensions are now effective.
