Burglar jailed for three years
- A burglar who raided a house in Hull helped himself to a safe, containing £12,000 cash, and stole two vehicles after finding the keys to them inside the property.
- Kai Donkin, 43, of no fixed address, but recently in custody on remand, was brought before Hull Crown Court for sentence after earlier entering guilty pleas to a series of charges brought against him.
- He admitted burglary of a house in Summergangs Road, east Hull, between March 10 and 13.
- The haul included a safe and its contents, including £12,000 cash, personal effects, a Ted Baker purse and its contents, a bottle of Tottenham Hotspur wine and silver commemorative coins.
- Also taken during the burglary were the keys to a Nissan Qashqai vehicle and a Renault van.
- Donkin, of Hull, also admitted stealing the Nissan Qashqai vehicle, belonging to a woman, and stealing the Renault Trafic van, belonging to a man, between the same dates.
- He admitted theft from the van, involving stealing work tools, clothes and personal items, on March 12.
- The guilty pleas were entered at a hearing on July 7, when the case was adjourned for a pre-sentence report to be prepared. He had been remanded in custody that day.
- Donkin was jailed for three years for the burglary. There were no separate penalties for the other offences.
