The five-day sentencing hearing of funeral director Robert Bush has dominated the last week of July but other serious cases have meant that it has been a very busy month in the courts. Among those to be jailed were a drug dealer who brazenly posed for a picture with bank notes all over him, a series of sex offenders and a husband who tried to murder his estranged wife by driving straight at her in the street.
Also locked up were a pub customer who leapt out at the landlord with a knife, a prisoner who received a drone delivery of drugs and mobile phones, and a young drug dealer who boasted in videos about his antics.
There were also the cases of two drivers who left a moped rider with life-threatening injuries, a woman who dropped knives outside a police station and a bully who told his terrified girlfriend to “Google him” about his past violent behaviour towards a woman.
These are some of the criminals who have been sentenced at Hull Crown Court in recent weeks.
