Hull Kingston Rovers’ Dean Hadley receives treatment after clashing heads with team-mate Tom Amone
Hull KR will be without Dean Hadley once more this weekend, Willie Peters has confirmed.
Hadley failed a HIA after clashing heads with Tom Amone in the opening stages of KR’s game against Leeds Rhinos at Headingley at the end of June.
Amone managed to make it to the end of the game but has since been ruled out for a short period with a fractured eye socket, caused by the clash. Hadley, on the other hand, was unable to continue and given it was his second concussion in the space of a month, he was sent to see a specialist last week.
Peters kept the results of that examination under wraps when asked about it after the derby clash with Hull FC at Magic Weekend, a game Hadley missed.
And, the Rovers boss followed a similar approach when asked about Hadley’s condition this afternoon, insisting the matter is with the club’s medical team.
Peters did confirm that the versatile forward would sit out of the clash with Wakefield Trinity on Saturday, though.
“Dean Hadley won’t play this week but we’re hopeful that we’ll be able to get him back soon,” Peters said. “I’m not sure, it’s still with the medical staff, but possibly next week.
“Speaking of Dean, I saw him straight after the game and he was fine. He got ruled out of that game but it was certainly different to how he was at Wembley.
“He just has to go through the right channels now, it’s with the medical team.
“We’ve just got to get through a couple of things. We’re hopeful. He definitely won’t play this week but we’re looking at a return in the near future and that’s all I can say at the moment.”
