Kasey Palmer has completed a permanent move to Luton Town after Hull City agreed a fee for the Jamaican playmaker, who spent the second half of last term on loan in Bedfordshire.
The 29-year-old becomes the latest City player to move on following promotion to the Premier League, joining Ivor Pandur, Akin Famewo and Under-21 midfielder Aidon Shehu earlier this week.
It’s understood the Tigers will receive just short of £500,000 for a player who joined City on deadline day in summer 2024, before going on to play 37 times for the East Yorkshire club in what was largely a disappointing spell.
His one goal came in Tim Walter’s first win as City boss, a 3-1 win away at Stoke City, with his last league appearance in Black and Amber coming on New Year’s Day, when the Tigers were beaten at home by the Potters. He was restricted to just 249 minutes in the Championship last term. He did play 82 minutes in City’s FA Cup third round win over Blackburn Rovers.

During his loan at Kenilworth Road, though, Palmer became a firm favourite in Jack Wilshere’s squad, playing 20 times and bagging eight goals as the Hatters narrowly missed out on a play-off place and a chance to earn an instant return to the Championship.
Palmer also played a key role in helping Town win the EFL Trophy at Wembley, playing the full game in the 3-1 win over Stockport County in mid-April.
Speaking at the back end of the week, with the deal on the verge of being announced, Hatters boss Wilshere reaffirmed his admiration for the former Chelsea youngster.
“I made it clear and he made it clear to us he wants to be here, we want him,” Wilshere told the BBC. “He’s loved by not just the fans but the coaches and the players.”
