Akin Famewo has joined League One promotion winners Bolton Wanderers on a permanent transfer, and he could soon be followed out of the MKM Stadium exit door by Kasey Palmer.
Defender Famewo joins the Trotters, who are preparing for life back in the Championship for an undisclosed fee.
Palmer, who joined Hull City from Coventry City two years ago, ended the season on loan at Luton Town and impressed with the Hatters, narrowly missing out on a play-off place in League One. During his stint in Bedfordshire, the former Chelsea youngster helped Town win the Football League Trophy at Wembley. In total, the Jamaican international played 37 times, scoring once.

Famewo endured an injury-hit campaign at City following his free transfer arrival from Sheffield Wednesday 12 months ago, but still played 17 times and made an impact when he was involved, often duptising at left-back following injuries to Ryan Giles, Matty Jacob and Cody Drameh. His one goal came in the convincing 3-0 win at play-off rivals Preston North End in January.
The departure of Famewo is part of a drive to move on fringe players ahead of a flurry of new signings as City prepare for life in the top flight.
There also remains interest in David Akintola, Mason Burstow and Abu Kamara, with talks continuing with Portsmouth over what would be an emotional return to Fratton Park for the winger.
Kyle Joseph’s move to Middlesbrough is also set to be confirmed imminently, with the Teesside outfit paying in the region of £5m to take the former Blackpool frontman to the Riverside Stadium.
Joseph’s exit follows on from Ivor Pandur joining Rangers and Under-21 midfielder Aidon Shehu leaving for Greek giants Panathinaikos.
