Championship outfit Portsmouth are considering lodging a bid for Hull City winger Abu Kamara, Hull Live understands, as they look to finally snare a player they’ve long coveted.
Kamara could be on his way out of the MKM Stadium this summer, and a return to Fratton Park may well be on the agenda as the club looks to move out players ahead of the new Premier League season.
After appearing in the first two Championship games, the 22-year-old spent last season on loan at Getafe in Spain following a deadline-day move, but an ankle injury saw him miss four months between December and March, before he returned for the final weeks, with his last outing coming in a defeat to Rayo Vallecano in early May.

Pompey have held a long-term interest in the London-born player, having had him on loan in the season they won the League One title when he flourished, scoring 10 goals and registering 11 assists.
The Blues were keen to sign him again before City swooped in to snatch him from Norwich City in a £3m-plus deal two years ago, with the South Coast club unable to afford the financial package which saw the Tigers snare his services.
No deal has yet been agreed between the two clubs, but discussions, it’s thought, remain ongoing in the hope of a breakthrough, though that will of course depend on Pompey being prepared to stump up what the Tigers want.
As it stands, Kamara will return to pre-season with City when the players return to Cottingham on Monday week for their first full week of training, ahead of their summer trip to Slovenia and Turkey.
Arguably, Kamara’s stand-out moment for the Tigers came when he scored a terrific brace in a thrilling 3-3 draw with Leeds United, with that display coming 48 hours after former head coach Ruben Selles held an unusual pre-match press conference with Kamara to discuss an innocuous social media post.
