Hull FC put in a spirited performance against Wigan.
Hull FC produced plenty of spirit in a battling account against Wigan Warriors, but ultimately came up short in a 20-16 defeat at the MKM Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Here are the ratings.
Logan Moy – Solid under the high ball and returned with energy throughout. A booming Smith 40/20 caught him out in the second half. 6
Harvey Barron – The winger scored in the first half and was going well before leaving the field to a HIA. He failed and will be out of next week’s game. 6
Tom Briscoe – The veteran stood in at centre and wing and held his own with another strong display. Carried hard, assisted one try, and had a try ruled out by the video referee. 8
Davy Litten – The centre had some moments. Stood up well and broke out of tackles, getting some offloads away. 7
Lewis Martin – Back in the side after four games out with an ankle injury. Scored the first try with a pacey finish and carried the ball well. 6
Jake Arthur – Took on a leading half-back role and did well. He took the Wigan line on and also passed well. 8
Aidan Sezer – There have been question marks of Sezer and Arthur as a duo this year but they worked well here at times. Ultimately, though, Hull to be more clinical in the big moments. 7
Herman Ese’ese – The big prop started the game and got through some big stints. Carried the ball hard and relished the physical battle. 8
Amir Bourouh – The hooker ran out of dummy half and won plenty of six agains. He also worked tirelessly in defence and put in a huge shift for the team. 8
Harvie Hill – A big 30 minute stint at the start of the game set the tone. He relished the battle against his former club. Some strong drives and hits. A really good performance. 8
Joe Batchelor – The back rower passed an HIA in the first half and got through a mountain of work in defence. 7
Zak Hardaker – The veteran returned in the back row spot and let nobody down. Tenacious as always and got stuck in. 7
Hugo Salabio – Started the game at loose-forward. Packed a punched and got stuck in, carrying and hitting hard. 7
Jed Cartwright – Really added to Hull off the bench. Packed a punch in both defence and attack and got a deserved try. His best performance of the year by a country mile. 8
Matty Laidlaw – The young prop never took a backwards step in his time on the field. 6
Will Hutchinson – The young dummy half got some more Super League minutes and went okay. 6
Jeremiah Mata’utia – Helped Hull keep up the physical challenge with some strong surges. 6
