Second event has been introduced to bring even more pets and people together
Not one but two tail-wagging days of fun are to be had in Hull this summer. Hull & East Yorkshire Mind is expanding its popular Pups in the Park event in 2026.
Dog lovers from across the region are invited to join in the canine excitement, with fun dog show classes – has your pet got the waggiest tail or most appealing eyes? – charity and craft stalls, family-friendly entertainment and food and refreshments.
Pups in the Park is a relaxed, welcoming event bringing together dog lovers from across the region while raising vital funds for local mental health support. Taking place at Pearson Park on Friday, July 11 and East Park on Saturday, August 16, the events will bring together dogs, their owners and the wider community for two fun-filled days celebrating the positive impact pets can have on our wellbeing.
Visitors can look forward to a range of activities and plenty of opportunities for dogs to socialise and make new friends. The charity decided to introduce a second event this year after seeing the impact Pups in the Park has had in bringing people together, encouraging community connections and raising vital funds for local mental health services.
Whether you have a playful puppy, a rescue dog, a pampered pooch or a loyal companion who has been by your side for years, there will be something for everyone to enjoy. As well as being a fantastic day out for families and dog owners, the events shine a light on the important role animals can play in supporting mental wellbeing.
From encouraging us to get outdoors and stay active, to reducing loneliness and providing comfort during difficult times, dogs can have a significant positive impact on our mental health. Lucy, events manager at Hull & East Yorkshire Mind, said: “Pups in the Park is a fantastic opportunity for our community to come together, celebrate their pets and support local mental health services.
“We know just how much dogs can positively impact our mental wellbeing. Whether it’s encouraging us to get outside for a daily walk, helping us stay active, providing companionship, or simply offering unconditional love and comfort on difficult days, dogs play an important role in many people’s lives.
“That’s why we wanted to create an event that not only celebrates our four-legged friends but also recognises the positive difference they make to our mental health. Every ticket purchased, donation made and conversation started helps us continue supporting people across Hull and East Yorkshire.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming both familiar faces and new supporters for what promises to be two fantastic community events.” All funds raised from the events will support Hull & East Yorkshire Mind’s work helping thousands of local people each year access mental health support, information and advice when they need it most.
Everyone is welcome to attend, whether you are entering your dog into one of the fun classes, supporting friends and family, browsing the stalls or simply enjoying a day out with fellow dog lovers. Both events will start at 10.30am and it costs £2 per dog, per class (book online) and £2 per adult attending (pay on the day).
