Hull KR have confirmed the signing of Flynn Holden from Warrington Wolves with immediate effect.
Holden has joined the Robins on a two and a half year deal, with his deal running until the end of 2028.
As Hull Live revealed earlier this week, Rovers have been monitoring Holden’s progress and with the 19-year-old’s contract due to expire at the end of the season, the club have pounced to bring him in .
Holden, who can play at full-back or on the wing, has made his way through the youth ranks at Warrington and he has caught the eye at academy level. However, he leaves the Halliwell Jones Stadium having never made a first team appearance for the club.
That’s due to him being behind a raft of highly talented youngsters in the Warrington pecking order, with the likes of Cai Taylor-Wray breaking through ahead of him over the last year.
Holden does have some first-team experience, with two appearances coming on loan at Goole Vikings earlier this year, but he makes the move to Craven Park with an ambition to take the next step in his career.
The youngster isn’t expected to challenge Jack Broadbent or Arthur Mourgue for a first-team spot at present, but he’ll be working beneath that first-team picture in the hope of making a Super League bow down the line.
The deal comes 24 hours after the Robins confirmed the addition of Ryan Westerman from Hull FC, while the club have also confirmed that former Warrington youngster Tom Whitehead has been allowed to join Doncaster on loan for the remainder of the season.
