The Humber region has a proud history of incredible winners and finalists who have inspired millions. For instance, Marcus Skeet (known online as The Hull Boy) won the Special Recognition award at last year’s Pride of Britain for his incredible charity fundraising and mental health advocacy. The Awards have also celebrated the late Jean Bishop, known as The Bee Lady, who raised thousands for Age UK in Hull.
Now, nominations for the 2026 Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards with P&O Cruises are officially open. Hosts Carol Vorderman MBE and Ashley Banjo MBE will return for the 27th year to lead the celebrations and toast the nation’s unsung heroes on a special night that will once again be televised in prime time on ITV1.
The awards celebrate achievements from children of courage to lifesaving emergency workers and inspirational fundraisers. Winners will be chosen later this summer by an esteemed panel of Pride of Britain judges.
