Three Super League players have been suspended

Three Super League players have been suspended by the Match Review Panel following round 12 of Super League.
The RFL’s disciplinary panel have met today to pore over the weekend’s action and they have ultimately handed out 13 charges.
Castleford Tigers’ Semi Valemei has landed the most severe charge and that’s for making unnecessary contact with a player who is injured or could be injured. That’s an automatic Grade E, which comes with a three-game ban.
There is some precedent on such charges this season with Harry Smith and Lachie Miller both being hit with similar bans recently. Castleford have the option to appeal, too.
The Tigers were playing St Helens on Saturday and three Saints players have been charged.
Jackson Hastings has been handed a two-game ban for a dangerous throw/lift and he’ll miss games against Leeds Rhinos and Warrington Wolves as a result.
Jack Welsby and Matt Whitley have been handed Grade C and B charges respectfully but they have avoided a ban.
The only other man suspended this week is James Bentley who has been handed a Grade C dangerous contact sanction a one match ban following the chicken wing tackle that saw him sin-binned on Sunday against Bradford Bulls.
Both Hull KR and Wigan Warriors have no disciplinary concerns as they prepare for the Challenge Cup final.
Hull FC loanee Ethan O’Neill has landed one disciplinary point for a late hit.
