The Tigers face a pivotal summer in the transfer market

Head coach Sergej jakirobvic says he and Hull City owner Acun Ilicali are perfectly aligned with their ambitions for the club as he hopes to have a sizeable transfer kittyy to spend this summer.
Having been forced to deal with a transfer embargo this season, from famine comes the feast for the Tigers with the promise of the Premier League’s millions. The City boss admits he needs to bring in quality players to his squad, but is also aware of the need to be careful with the spending.
Pointing to how Sunderland set about adding real quality to their ranks while still giving the players who took them up an opportunity, Jakirovoic says he favours that “recipe” and has promised his \Wembley winners they will get their opportunity to play a part in City’s assault of the Premier League next season.
“We are on the same page (with the owner), so we will try use this money very wisely,” said Jakirovic, having already joked, “maybe we will get an embargo again, who knows?”
The city boss will meet with the club’s recruitment team, headed by Martin Hodge and Jared Dublin, in the coming days. Hull Live understands the club have already drawn up an extensive list of targets for their Premier League return, having also worked up another list had they stayed in the Championship.
“We have a nice budget and we will see,” added Jakirovic. “The recruitment team have a lot of big days ahead of them.
“The chemistry is good with the owner and he supports me and believes in me. When you have that type of support you can deliver a good result.
“We will try to add better players than we have right now. The main players who bring us to the Premier League can stay and help us, but we need to add better players as well. Sunderland are a good recipe, they add speed and dynamic players.”
While City don’t have a lot of time before their return to the top flight, the club are not expected to rush into any decisions and will take their time to evaluate their squad options before taking the first steps into what will be a massive important summer in the transfer market.
