Hull FC have landed the Leigh Leopards outside-back.
Hull FC have completed a deal to sign Bailey Hodgson for the 2027 season and beyond.
The Hull-born full-back is the first signing of the Steve McNamara era, who will join the club next season from Warrington Wolves.
A local player, Hodgson, still only 23, started his career at Castleford Tigers and made his Super League debut back in 2020. He then spent time at Newcastle Knights and Manly Sea Eagles in the NRL before moving to Leigh Leopards upon his return to the U.K.
Known as a full-back, Hodgson is also capable of playing in the outside back positions and will offer plenty of depth and versatility to the Hull side.
There is also a possibility that he could get the full-back spot outright next season, with Will Pryce, currently in rehab after a season ending ACL injury, moving to the halves.
Hull also have Logan Moy as an option, who has performed well for the club over their last six games. Lloyd Kemp is also on the books.
As for their current halves, Aidan Sezer and Jake Arthur remain under contract for next season, as does Callum Kemp.
And while there could be some changes to come at the end of the season, Hodgson, at the least, has got the Black and Whites recruitment up and running for 2027.
He has recently recovered from a knee injury sustained at Wigan earlier this season and made his comeback last month. He will line up against Hull on Friday night, with the Leythers hosting Andy Last’s injury hit side at Leigh Sports Village.
