City have plenty of time to prepare for next Saturday’s showpiece game in the capital
Hull City’s players will return to training on Thursday as preparations ramp up for next Saturday’s play-off final at Wembley Stadium.
The Tigers players were given Tuesday and Wednesday off after the ecstasy of Monday night’s 2-0 play-off second leg win at Millwall, having arrived back in East Yorkshire late.
Sergej Jakirovic’s heroes are then expected to train on Thursday and Friday, before having the weekend to spend with their families, ahead of returning on Monday to begin the final week with their normal build-up for a Saturday game.
Bosses at City are currently in discussions about whether or not the players will travel down to London on Thursday, to give them more time to prepare for the game against Southampton under the arch, and get to grips with their surroundings.

Both clubs are awaiting final confirmation of the kick-off time from the EFL, which has not yet been made public. Hull Live understands it will likely be 4pm, but not expected to be any later than 4:30pm. Ticket details are expected in due course, despite the ongoing situation involving Southampton’s charge by the EFL.
“We will have two days off, then on Thursday we are back together,” Jakirovic told Hull Live. “We will train for two or three days, we will see. Then from Monday, we will all concentrate and prepare for the game. We will prepare everything for the final.”
