“This is a fun and rewarding experience for dads and their children.”
The popular festival DadFest is coming to South Cliff Holiday Park in Bridlington, this May. DadFest is a unique ‘Festival of Fatherhood’, offering a weekend full of activities for dads and children.
Organised in partnership with East Riding of Yorkshire Council and Rewilding Youth, it builds relationships between fathers and children. DadFest has released its programme of events for 2026 which includes arts and crafts, bat walks, fireside fun and stories, beach games, star gazing and astronomy, magic shows, a day at The Edge Ariel Adventure and much more.
The unique festival, which was created by The Dads’ Network CIC, is for dads, father figures, male carers and their children of all ages. It won ‘Best Small Event in the UK’ by the National Outdoor Events Association in 2025.
To make the event more accessible, Rewilding Youth can provide free access to ‘camping kits’ consisting of a two-person tent, two sleeping mats, two sleeping bags and two camping chairs. To enquire about this, email: Les@rewildingyouth.co.uk
This year the event will take place Friday, 15 May to Sunday, 17 May and all activities over the whole weekend and camping are all included in the ticket price.
A small number of half-price tickets will be available to low-income families, if interested please email: info@thedadsnetwork.org to enquire.
Councillor Nick Coultish, cabinet member for culture, leisure and tourism at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said: “I took part in DadFest with my daughter last year and had a wonderful time.
“I was really impressed with the wide range of events on offer, we spent all day taking part in bonding activities such as nature walks, crafting and beach games, and enjoyed the evening around the campfire. This is a fun and rewarding experience for dads and their children.”
Colin Phillips, lead youth environment educator with Rewilding Youth, added: “We had some amazing feedback from our event last year which showed us that the simple act of spending one to one time with their children without the distraction of mobile phones and tablets was a really special experience.
“Dads told us that they valued sitting around the fire, speaking to other dads and watching their children make new friends. We hope this weekend will be the beginning of a beautiful relationship with nature, and most importantly, with your children.”
