“As a proud Romanian and a proud British citizen, I can only say: God Save The King.”
A woman from Hull said it was a “privilege” to attend the Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace yesterday. Hosted by His Majesty King Charles III, the event on May 6 marked the third anniversary of his Coronation.
Andreea Salvage, director and founder of the Romanians and Europeans Association Community Hub CIC, moved to the UK from Romania nearly 20 years ago. Andreea is a Knight of the Order Merit for Promoting Human Rights and Social Justice; she was nominated to attend the Garden Party in recognition of her years of volunteering and building bridges between communities and local authorities.
She said: “It was an incredible honour and privilege to be invited to such a special occasion celebrating His Majesty The King on the third anniversary of his Coronation.
“I felt deeply grateful not only to attend, wishing The King a happy anniversary on such an important day. The atmosphere throughout the garden party was absolutely fantastic.
“The brass bands were a delight, the beautiful selection of sandwiches, cakes, tea, coffee and refreshments was wonderful, and the gardens themselves were truly majestic.
“His Majesty took the time to meet people, shake hands, smile and verbally engage warmly with guests on his way from the Palace to the tent, making the occasion even more memorable.
“It was also very special to see other members of the Royal Family present, including Queen Camilla, Prince Edward, Princess Anne, and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.
“To have been nominated in recognition of my volunteering and community work means a great deal to me. Since arriving in the United Kingdom in 2007, this country has welcomed and adopted me, and I have always admired its long tradition of diversity, inclusion, and respect for all communities.”
The Royal Garden Party celebrates individuals from across the country who have made significant contributions to their communities and public life through volunteering, charity work, and civic engagement.
Andreea added: “As a proud Romanian and a proud British citizen, I can only say: God Save The King.”
