Lengthy prison sentences handed out in the past few weeks have included a 20-year term given to a sex offender who tried to bluff his way out of trouble by demanding to have a lie detector test. A teenage serial rapist was locked up after targeting three young girls and an opportunist rapist was jailed after cynically taking advantage of a sleeping woman.
A company director who “betrayed” her trusting boss stole more than £671,000 from his taxi firm and a hammer-wielding troublemaker turned up at a house in the early hours with two accomplices while on a revenge mission. Violent boyfriends and drug dealers were also jailed in court hearings featured during April.
These are some of the cases that have been heard at Hull Crown Court and Grimsby Crown Court during the last few weeks.
