A loan move for two Hull FC forwards.
Hull FC forward duo Will Kirby and Joe Phillips have joined Championship side Hunslet on loan. The pair will feature for the Leeds-based side away at Keighley Cougars this Easter weekend.
Kirby made his Hull first-team debut away at Salford Red Devils in 2024, adding a couple more appearances to his total last year, and while named in 21-man squad’s this season, he has yet to make a senior appearance in 2026, instead playing for the club’s reserves side. The move is the back rower’s second loan stint at Hunslet, having played eight games during a spell with the Parksiders last year.
Meanwhile, Phillips, signed from Goole Vikings ahead of the 2026 season, has also been playing for Hull’s reserves after overcoming a pre-season leg injury. He is yet to make his first-team debut but along with Kirby, will gain some valuable first-team experience for Kyle Trout’s side, who have won one of their opening seven games in the second tier.
The duo follow on from Matty Laidlaw, who played for Hunslet last month before being recalled by Hull to feature in Super League. The Hull-born prop is in the 21-man squad ahead of Good Friday’s derby against Hull KR.
Both loans will be managed on a weekly basis. Hull reserves are next in action against St Helens at the University of Hull on Saturday 18 April.
