Rovers will once again have a settled side
Hull KR coach Willie Peters has made just two changes to his squad to face Hull FC, with Aussie signing Karl Lawton back to experience his first taste of the derby. Lawton is back from a three-game suspension picked up in the match at Huddersfield Giants, and is joined in the 21-man squad by youngster Harvey Horne.
A decision to send Jordan Dazaria and Bill Leyland to St Helens to aid their injury-hit squad opened up the two places in an otherwise unchanged line-up from Peters. Lawton is expected to feature off the bench on Friday in what is likely to be the only change to the team this week.
Rovers head into the 250th derby with confidence on the rise after a dominant victory over St Helens in their first appearance of the season at Sewell Group Craven Park. The Robins are bidding to stretch their winning run in derby games to six matches, with Peters last tasting defeat back in 2023 to Tony Smith’s side.
Victory for Rovers will see them leapfrog FC in the Super League table, with a game in hand on their rivals. It could also be enough to ensure the club end rivals round in a play-off position, again having played a game less than all the sides above them except Warrington Wolves.
Hull FC’s preparations have been hit with the news prop Brad Fash is ruled out. It has now emerged the 30-year-old picked up a head knock in Sunday’s win against Catalans Dragons and now sits the game out. Fash is one of four changes to the FC squad, with young trio Will Kirby, Ben Johnson, and Lennon Clark also dropping out. In come captain Aidan Sezer, Cade Cust and Joe Batchelor.
