Hull FC have tied down Zak Hardaker to a new contract.
Zak Hardaker has signed a new deal at Hull FC, with the 34-year-old agreeing to a one-year extension to his current contract. Hull Live reported last month that both parties were closing in on an agreement, with it now confirmed that Hardaker will remain with the Black and Whites until the end of the 2027 season.
The former Super League Man of Steel has been a revelation since joining Hull from Leigh Leopards, winning the club’s Coaches, Players, and Fans Player of the Year last season. He had a one-year option on his original two-year deal, with both parties working to activate that option over the last few weeks.
Playing in all of the full-back, wing, centre, half-back, and back row positions, Hardaker has become a fan favourite at the club and will now play on into his 18th season in the professional game. He has over 400 career appearances to his name, 32 of which have come for Hull over the last 15 or so months.
Speaking on his contract extension, Hardaker said: “I’m absolutely over the moon to be doing another year at Hull FC in 2027. Getting it over the line so early in the year is a godsend really because it’s no longer going to be a distraction, worrying about my future. I can get my head down and solely focus on winning games for Hull now.
“My time at the club so far has flown by and it’s been one of the most enjoyable periods of my career to date. I’m really lucky to have so many great team mates and staff around me to make Hull feel like home.
“I just want to give a shout-out to the fans as well, who have been nothing short of fantastic with me during my time at the club. I absolutely love the Faithful and can’t wait to do another year playing in front of them.”
Hardaker follows on from contract renewals for Lewis Martin and Harvey Barron earlier this year. Outlining the veteran’s impact at Hull FC, Director of Rugby Gareth Ellis, added: “We are delighted to see Zak commit to the club for another season – he has been an incredibly important addition to our group over the past 18 months and will continue to be as we move forward into 2027.
“His energy and enthusiasm for the club and the sport are infectious, and he is a critically important figure for our group in these areas on both the training and playing fields.
“He is in a really good place both on and off the field, and that stability is allowing him to consistently perform and contribute positively to the environment we are building here.
“Zak is enjoying his rugby here in West Hull, and that is reflected in his performances across last season and into 2026 as one of our stand-out performers in all areas.”
