The Tigers went through two windows working under strict restrictions placed on them by the EFL
Hull City spent just under £2.5m on agent fees between February 2025 and 2026, according to figures revealed by the Football Association.
That period includes the summer transfer window, which saw the Tigers hit by transfer restrictions imposed on them by the EFL, and the winter window, which closed on February 2 this year, again where the club were limited to free transfers and fee-free loan deals.
During that time, City were busy with bringing in the likes of Oli McBurnie, John Lundstram, Joe Gelhardt and Semi Ajayi, while Steven Alzate and Marvin Mehlem sealed permanent exits.
The arrivals of Sergej Jakirovic and assistant manager Dean Holden were also included in the FA’s data, and so too, was the contract extension of Lewie Coyle, and loan agreements for Lewis Koumas, Toby Collyer and Yu Hirakawa in the New Year.
In total, 32 transactions relating to City were listed during the 12-month period, with a total of £2,450,431 spent by the Tigers, which ranks them 10th in the Championship, amid a total spend by all 24 clubs of £69,665,489.
Top of the spenders list were Ipswich Town, who spent an incredible £11,738,920, followed by Southampton with £8,381,358 and Leicester City’s £5,866,587.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, crisis club Sheffield Wednesday, who, like City, were the subject of EFL transfer restrictions, spent the lowest in the Championship with £534,559.
