The Championship promotion race is set up for a thrilling climax
Hull City head coach Sergej Jakirovic has urged the club’s fans to try and enjoy what’s left of what has been a thrilling season, and could yet end with the club ending their near-decade wait for Premier League football.
City return to action on Good Friday and will be backed by a sold-out away following at Oxford United’s Kassam Stadium, as they go in search of a big three points.
On the road, the Tigers’ loyal away following have been treated to some memorable trips with 10 wins, and they’ll hope to make it 11 at the start of a crucial Easter weekend.
The Tigers have just 11 games of the regular season to go, and with four of those coming away from the MKM Stadium, Jakirovic has stressed how vital the fans’ backing will be, and is keen for them to relish the opportunity lying in wait over the next five weeks.
This season is in stark contrast to the stress, worry and anxiety of 12 months ago, when City faced a torturous final day when they survived on goal difference.

“They must be very supportive and very loud, like when you know watch Wrexham away, Ipswich away, and West Bromwich away, they are very loud,” the City chief told Hull Live as the Croatian prepares his side for two games in four days over the Easter weekend.
“Even if a referee made some make some mistakes, they are very loud. We must feel this support behind our backs, no matter what the result is.
“I think that we all need to enjoy this season because this season is great for us. This is a great season, and we should not be frustrated and disappointed.
“We are doing everything to get into the play-offs, so we will see at the end of the season, but there is no place for being frustrated or feeling frustrated or being disappointed.
“What is this? Or it’s better to have a relegation battle, I don’t know. Maybe it’s more adrenaline for them, but I think my opinion, there is no pressure. What is pressure? Pressure was last season, that was the pressure, but now you have to enjoy and try to perform.”
