The incident last week went on overnight and into Friday morning
A man has been charged following an armed police incident which closed part of Beverley Road for several hours last week. The road was shut from around 11.30pm on Thursday (March 5) until late on Friday morning between the junctions of De Grey Street and Queens Road.
Armed officers were seen in the area while drivers and pedestrians were urged to avoid the area during the incident. It was later reported by Humberside Police that a man had allegedly barricaded himself inside a property in an attempt to evade arrest.
Following the incident, a man has now been charged with possession of a class B drug and obstructing a constable in execution of their duty. Anthony Allison, 44, of Beverley Road, Hull, was remanded into custody and is due to appear at Hull Magistrates’ Court at a later date.
