Two murals are planned for Bridlington. Here’s what you need to know:
- Two murals are set to be painted on the harbour and old town areas of Bridlington, providing a celebration of the town’s heritage. These will be funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
- The designs have been developed following engagement with local residents. Feedback highlighted a desire to showcase key aspects of Bridlington’s heritage including the harbour, fishing industries, the Gansey Girl, the Barrow Boy, the Priory, and local sea life, along with other community‑led suggestions.
- The murals will be completed in Spring 2026, with the sites currently being prepared for the works to start. The murals are being designed by Yorkshire artist Sam Porter from Mural Minded.
- Councillor Anne Handley, East Riding of Yorkshire Council leader said “We’re dedicated to supporting communities across the region and this is a great project to support regeneration in Bridlington. We look forward to seeing the completed murals and hope they draw more visitors to the town.”
