‘Following extensive searches, we were pleased to receive the news that the person had been found safe and well’
Humber Rescue was tasked by the Humber Coastguard to assist in the search for a missing person yesterday evening (January 26). At 17:30, a crew of three launched the smaller D-Class lifeboat.
The team carried out a shoreline search within the vicinity of Barton-Upon-Humber. Humber Rescue said that while conducting the search, they were assisted from the air by NPAS and Rescue 912.
In a statement posted on social media, a spokesperson for Humber Rescue said: “Following extensive searches, we were pleased to receive the news that the person had been found safe and well. We were subsequently stood down with thanks.”
Following the search, the lifeboat was washed, refuelled and made ready for service at 22.15.
Just last week, Humber Rescue told of the challenging conditions they faced when saving a person in the Humber in a “fast-moving” emergency. The heroic volunteers were dispatched but given the state of the tide, the crew had to take a longer route.
Thankfully, this incident also had a positive result. After helping a person onto a lifeboat, paramedics took charge of the casualty who was described as wet and cold but not suffering from serious injuries.
