A footpath over North Bridge in Hull will be closed for upgrade work from Monday.

Hull City Council said the work to renew the southern footpath would take two weeks to complete.

The council said work on the northern footpath which began in early January had been finished.

The path maintenance was split into two phases to maintain pedestrian access to the bridge, the council said.

Highways spokesman Mark Ieronimo said: “North Bridge provides a vital crossing over the River Hull, so its maintenance is essential.

“Once complete, the renewed footpaths will futureproof the route for pedestrians and accommodate the Freetown Way Cycle Scheme.”
