The R’s have fallen away after a flying start to the new Championship campaign

Queens Park Rangers will welcome back Kwame Poku for Saturday’s home return against in-form Hull City at Loftus Road after a nightmare start to life in West London.

Poku, who arrived in a £1m deal from Peterborough United in the summer, missed three months with an injury before returning for the 4-1 home defeat to Ipswich Town at the beginning of the month.

The 24-year-old winger then sustained another injury in training and missed the home loss to Southampton and goalless draw at Sheffield United before the international break, but is set to return for the visit of Sergej Jakirovic’s play-off chasers as Championship action returns after making significant progress in the past couple of weeks.

Defender Jake Clarke-Salter, who has struggled with injuries of his own in recent times, is set to be in the squad for the afternoon clash in the capital. The former Chelsea youngster hasn’t featured since January.

Rangers, who have just one win in their last six games and boast just two wins at Loftus Road from their seven so far, will be without long-term absentee Ziyad Larkeche and goalkeeper Joe Walsh.

Julien Stephen’s Rangers sit 16th in the table with 19 points from their 15 games, with that one win in their last six outings coming away from home at Swansea City.

For their part, City will arrive in London looking to cement their place in the Championship’s top six after moving into it before the break with a gritty 3-2 win over Portsmouth, their fifth win in the past seven games.
