‘All Hull College campuses will be closed today in the interest of the health and safety of our students and staff’
Hull College has announced it will be closed today due to snowfall. In a statement issued this morning, a spokesperson said: “All Hull College campuses will be closed today in the interest of the health and safety of our students and staff.”
The college is encouraging everyone to ‘stay safe, avoid any unnecessary travel, and continue to monitor our official channels’. According to the college, their estates team carried out early morning assessments of the grounds and surrounding areas.
A spokesperson said: “The weather has created hazardous conditions that make it unsafe to open our buildings as normal. The safety of our college community is our top priority, and we appreciate your understanding as we respond to the situation.”
Students are advised to check their emails and course communications channels throughout the day. Teaching staff will be contacting students directly to discuss any remote learning or alternative arrangements where possible.
The statement concluded: “Thank you for your patience and understanding during this disruption. Stay warm, stay safe, and we look forward to welcoming you back to campus as soon as conditions improve.”
The college has also confirmed that their open event for tonight is scheduled. Everyone who had booked is automatically being moved to the next event in January, with emails being sent out soon.
